The 22nd annual ‘Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation’ (known as the NSLC) Festival of Wine took place in Atlantic, Canada at the end of last month. It is the largest event of its kind in the Atlantic region, and one of the biggest in Canada, attracting over 6000 wine enthusiasts over week-long itinerary of events. The board of the NSLC tasted in excess of 1000 wines leading up to the festival, in order to narrow down the selection to 360 wines that would be show cased at the festival.
The stringent tasting review also resulted in merely 28 winners across the 42 categories. And after 22 years of operation, the NSLC also awarded for the first time an ‘Innovation Award’.
Despite this year’s festival focusing on Spanish wine, South Africa came out on top with the ‘Innovation Award’ being presented to our very own The Drift “There Are Still Mysteries’ Single Vineyard Pinot Noir.
This award recognizes both innovative craftsmanship in the art of winemaking and innovative packaging.
Hot on the heels of our recent remarkable award success in China, this proves that our Pinot Noir mountain vineyard is producing some of the most delicious and beautiful wine in the world.
