One week to go … explore the wine workshops – Sabrage, Salt and French Champagne!
Press release published by Juliet Cullinan
28 May 2019
A celebration of wine magnificence, Summer Place in Sandton becomes the meeting point of creators and collectors for the 29th Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival on 4 & 5 June. Sponsored by Standard bank for 19 years, the event is regarded as the most prestigious wine showcase in South Africa, set apart by its outstanding level of wines and wineries from several vintages and regions.
It’s big enough to offer an interesting array of wines, yet small enough for personal interaction.
We will be hosting the following Wine Wisdom Workshops using Schott Zwiezel Glasses and Bené Mineral water.

The Joburg Foodie’s Seriously Good Wine Society Bubbly 101.
Steve Steinfeld better known as “The Joburg Foodie,” to his 40k strong social media following, launches “the” wine club for 25-35 year olds wishing to drink seriously good wine without taking themselves too seriously.
A somewhat, self-confessed, “sabrage” obsessive, Steve may even end the class with a celebratory bottle opening!
How Salt affects the flavour of Wine
The Salt Chef, Craig Cormack, teams up with Fleur du Cap to create the first Wine Brand in the World to pair wine, food and salt.
Craig will host 5 salts and 5 mini tastings paired with quality driven wines from the Fleur du Cap range.
Tastings through out the evening.
Define your wine experience
Juliet Cullinan will unveil her self-designed e wheels; defining grape varieties and fruit flavours. They are a quick reference in a logical format on a convenient disc to show tasters what to look for and what flavours to expect.
Guests can plan their tasting experience – zone in on the wine styles they prefer, their top wines, varieties and regions.
