Join our Magnetic Fields Wine Harvest Celebration Lunch in collaboration with our partner wine brands, including the Black Oystercatcher Wines, Bruce Jack Wines, Land’s End and more. We’ll toast the harvest season together, and the wine crafted by our special vineyard soils.
What is Magnetic Fields Winery?
We are a custom winemaking facility based just outside the picturesque village of Elim in the Agulhas Wine Triangle. We specialize in making premium wine for various brand owners. We provide a modern winemaking facility and award-winning winemaking team to craft wine to the highest standards from grapes grown both in the Agulhas Wine Triangle and also further afield. Brands we make at the winery include Black Oystercatcher, Trizanne Signature Wines, The Berrio, Barbers Wood, Zoetendal, Du Toitskloof (Lands End), Bruce Jack Wines and Trail Estate.
The name Magnetic Fields refers to the high concentration of minerality in our surrounding vineyard soils, especially magnetite, known historically as lodestone. The name Agulhas comes from the Portuguese word for needles, because when early mariners tried to navigate around the dangerous southern tip of Africa their compass needles couldn’t find magnetic north due to the concentration of magnetite in the bedrock.
