The 2024 Cape Bordeaux Red Blend Report, sponsored by global financial services company Prescient, has unveiled The Mitre Red 2022 (made by winemaker, Bruce Jack) as the wine offering the best quality relative to price. The Mitre Red 2022, which received a rating of 90 points, is priced at an exceptional value of just R120 per bottle and is currently available to purchase here.
The Mitre Red 2022’s affordability, coupled with its impressive score, secured its place as the top-value wine among all entries.
“The Mitre Red 2022 stands out for offering extraordinary quality at a price that is accessible to a wide range of wine enthusiasts,” said Christian Eedes, Head judge and Cape Bordeaux Red Blend Report Editor.
The Mitre Red was crafted from three separate vineyard blocks, with the cornerstone being an old block of Cabernet Sauvignon in Ashton. It was made to commemorate the 175th year of Bishops.
Bruce Jack was voted one of the Top 100 winemakers in the world last year for mastery of another Bordeaux variety, Cabernet Franc, which he makes under the “Ghost in the Machine” range. Find out more here.
